The Challenge Training

Key Tools For Monitoring, Managing And Directing Passive Market Leadership

One of the major benefits of running an Internet Marketing or online business is that you can run it from anywhere. The tools that you choose to do the job are entirely up to you, but at the end of the day, finding a way to run things while not in front of your computer is the goal. Today, Ed shows you how he runs his online business with his tools of choice.

Before you start today's lesson, take note of the fact that owning these devices is not essential. The goal here is for Ed to show you how he does things.

It will surprise very few of you to know that Ed's two main tools of choice are his iPhone and his iPad. Between both devices Ed is covered for every possible workflow situation, where ever he happens to be. Starting with the iPad, Ed demonstrates some of the tools or apps he uses on a regular basis that allows him to stay in touch with his marketplace. Areas covered include email, web surfing, Ed's RSS reader of choice Reeder, Instapaper, SimpleNote and Dropbox. Some of these tools, in particular Instapaper and Dropbox are cross platform, so make sure you check them out.

Another important aspect that Ed covers in the lesson concerns cloud based computing, which is essentially internet based computing. Instapaper and Dropbox are perfect examples of this. By using these services your information goes into the 'cloud', where it can be accessed by any device you have setup to interface with your account. With Dropbox for example, you can keep a range of documents, files photos, whatever you need, and then access it from anywhere. This gives you the freedom to access content and information on any device that allows it.

As a way of illustrating Ed's point that various devices enable you access the same information in a variety of circumstances, Ed shows you the apps he has installed on his iPhone. Some are the same as the iPad, but some also add the ability to record audio, video and take photos. The combination of the features of each device give Ed the ability to run almost every aspect of his business on the road.

As Ed has shown in today's lesson, many of the tools he uses fit into the 'cloud computing' category and will function independent of a smart device. Today's related resources section is broken into two sections: 1. tools and services that have an online component and can be accessed anywhere you can get online. 2. Tools that are must haves on Ed's iPad.

Actions For The Day - Keep fueling up. 1. Do a ten minute free writing exercise on some content you have collected. 2. Find some content of interest in your subscribed feeds on Google Reader. 3. Either make notes of the researched content in Evernote or post it to your Posterous network.
