The Challenge Training

What Is Passive Market Leadership?

Module Four is where you begin to learn about Market Leadership. Over the next two modules Ed will introduce to the concepts behind Market Leadership, both passive and active, and provide you with some step by step guidelines to follow to achieve a level of Market Leadership in your niche.

In Ed's first video for the day he outlines what he will be covering and gives a few examples of how Google works in the way it ranks sites. Understanding how this works is crucial to understanding how to be a leader in your market. As has already been covered in The Challenge so far, the creation of our link network can add to our authority with Google, adding to that Ed introduces the concept of the relevancy of news and content that is on sites that Google is now paying far more attention to.

In Ed's second video he defines the concept of Market Leadership as a step by step process. It's a long term process that requires a level of consistency, but done correctly places you firmly as one of the leaders of your market. Ed also discusses the use of various online platforms such as Twitter and Facebook as part of your Market Leadership process, not money making activities as some people claim they are.

Ed also goes into detail about the negative connotations that some people associate with Market Leadership, that of the perception of leaders and the medium with which people put themselves out there as leaders. And of course, there is always the risk of receiving criticism from others.

In Ed's last video for the day, he outlines some examples of how to create Market Leadership by talking about Julie Powell's Julie/Julia project and Bill Wadman's 365 Portraits Project. Both of these examples show that by consistency and perseverance, your profile as a Market Leader in your market will grow organically.

In your niche, following the methodology of creating content and adding to your market that you have been getting taught in The Challenge, all adds to your profile as a market leader.
