The Challenge Training

Adding Blogger, LiveJournal and Xanga Accounts To Your Posterous Account

Today's lessons cover adding even more Web 2.0 platforms to link to your Posterous account. Again, the benefits of this are two-fold, you get to generate even more backlinks for your micro-niche blog and you can also generate some organic traffic through providing good content on these services. The three services covered today are Blogger, LiveJournal and Xanga.

Kicking off the lessons, GuruBob first shows you how to get setup using Blogger. GuruBob shows you an example Blogger blog that is setup with links correctly and then takes you through the process of signing up for the service yourself. One point to take note of is that Blogger is a Google service and will require a Google account to use. The easiest way to get a Google account if don't already have one is to sign up for a Gmail account. After following the steps to add a template and layout, GuruBob demonstrates how to add an anchor text link to your Blogger blog sidebar using the Link List gadget. Finally, GuruBob once again demonstrates how to add your brand new acccount to your Posterous account.

The second service GuruBob introduces today is LiveJournal. GuruBob first shows you an example LiveJournal blog and points out that with LiveJournal, the area where you get to put your anchor text link is in the User Info section of the blog. A walkthrough of the registration process is demonstrated, but the key activity here is ensuring that you edit your profile for the blog to include your anchor text link.

The last service introduced in today's lesson is Xanga, which is a very easy service to setup. GuruBob walks you through the registration and setup process and explains that with Xanga you don't get the ability to add a site level anchor text link. The way to get an anchor text link into Xanga is to write a simple introductory post and then edit it to include your anchor text link in that post.

Actions For The Day - 1. Sign up for a Blogger blog, edit it to include a link to your micro-niche blog and add the Blogger to your Posterous account. 2. Sign up for a LiveJournal blog, edit the blog to include a link to your micro-niche blog and add the LiveJournal blog to your Posterous account. 3. Sign up for a Xanga blog, edit it to include a link to your micro-niche blog and add the Xanga blog to your Posterous account.

The services we have chosen are the ones we feel are the most beneficial in building your link network, but if you have the time and inclination, signing up for a number of these other services will strengthen and grow your link network further.
