We’re in the midst of creating your publishing platform via Posterous and we’ve still got one more day to go. Tomorrow I will introduce three more sites.

The Challenge 2010: Module 3/Day 4 – Publishing With Posterous

Thursday, August 12th, 2010

How was Squidoo…really easy right?

Today, until the end of Module 3, we are going to be focussing on Posterous and many of the Web 2.0 platforms that Posterous interfaces with. Posterous makes it super easy to publish content across a wide range of sites (including Posterous itself). And we can arrange for all of those sites to link back to our WPD blog. In todays videos, Ed introduces posterous and then shows how to setup a Posterous account and add the first few Web 2.0 sites:

http://www.challenge.co/training/2010/mod3/day4

While Posterous makes it easy to publish to a network of sites…first we have to build that network and that’s what the next 3 days is going to be all about.

The Challenge 2010: Module 3/Day 3 – Squidoo

Wednesday, August 11th, 2010

Yesterday was EzineArticles and today it is Squidoo…another of the Web 2.0 powerhouses.

http://www.challenge.co/training/2010/mod3/day3

There are many definitions of Web 2.0, but I like to think of it as a period of time when sites emerged that were created specifically for users to publish their own content. Sites like EzineAfticles, Squidoo and YouTube fall into that category.

And because Web 2.0 sites are so powerful (with thousands to millions of pages indexed) they have a certain authority in the eyes of Google. So the opportunity to create pages on those sites and link to your WPD Blog from those pages (using your target keyword as the anchor text) is an opportunity too good to pass up.

Michelle MacPhearson takes the reins in todays video and introduces you to Squidoo and shows how to create a Squidoo lens and link to your Blog. So by the end of today you should have your own Squidoo lens containing keyword specific links. Easy!

Tomorrow we begin to explore the world of Posterous and a fabulous world it is!

The Challenge 2010: Module 3/Day 2 – EzineArticles

Tuesday, August 10th, 2010

Hopefully after Day 1 of Module 3 you should be really clear on what a back link is and why it is so important to your SEO and keyword rankings. Now on Day 2, we are going to begin to teach you methods and sites where you can begin to get those all important back links to your WPD blog. And we’re going to begin with EzineArticles.

http://www.challenge.co/training/2010/mod3/day2

EzineArticles has been around for a long time now and has the status as the most trusted (by Google) of all the article directories.

Articles remain one of the best ways of getting back links to your site and the process of setting up your EzineArticles account and how to submit your article is covered in detail in today’s video by Caro McCourtie.

Tomorrow we introduce another of the most trusted Web 2.0 sites on the Internet – Squidoo.
